Anchors Under Microscope

Here you will see the Anchors fabric under miscroscope. It is a satin warp which you can see in the top image as the black fabric between the white and navy weft. The navy forming the colour and the white forming the anchors in the design. This would mean that as the satin warp is passed down the machine, two thread balls, one of navy and one of white, would be passed across the machine, weaving in and out to form the colour and pattern of the silk off the black satin base.
